🏗️ CUT Civil Engineering Students Gear Up for Bridge Building Competition 2026
The Department of Civil Engineering at the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) is set to host its annual Bridge Building Competition on Friday, 14 August 2026, at the i-Gym, 20 President Brand Street. This exciting event challenges engineering students to design, build, and test model bridges — celebrating creativity, teamwork, and structural innovation under the theme “Failure is Part of Learning!”
With a prize pool of R10,000, the competition encourages students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical design, fostering problem-solving and resilience. Open to Project Subject students, the event highlights CUT’s commitment to experiential learning and engineering excellence.
Supported by SAICE (South African Institution of Civil Engineering), the competition continues to inspire the next generation of civil engineers to create, strengthen, and innovate for a sustainable future.
